How to Be An Influencer Marketer

By: Sagefrog

Influencer marketing isn’t a new practice by any means, but with word of mouth being one of the top ways to grow your business, it’s more important than ever to make sure your customers trust your business and are willing to vouch for you.  Follow these easy tips to produce real results:

  • Delve Deeper— topical searches can help you understand what your customers needs are, but doing a little more investigation can go a long way.  There are many areas of overlap that could produce even more results for you (e.g. if you’re a cooking utensil manufacturer, check out youtube cooking channels or food blogs as well).
  • Start In Your Own Network— many of your top influencers are already in your network, like friends and family, and they can help expand your influence by vouching for you.
  • Reward Them— recognize who is vouching for you and let them know you appreciate it through deals, early bird promotions, and public recognition.
  • Be Personal— take a personal interest in your influencers and engage with them on their terms. They probably have more insight to your market than you do!
  • Tailor It— Keep your updates short, to the point, and limit how often you post per day to increase the likelihood of it being shared.
  • Stay In the Conversation— Use creative and innovative ways to become part of the social media conversation (e.g. create your own hashtag, promote a social media related contest, etc…)
