Challenge

Defibtech, a manufacturer of automatic external defibrillators (AEDs), sought to enhance its corporate brand and launch a revolutionary product line of tools that would display how rescuers could save a life using an AED via video screens. It needed a robust marketing plan that would communicate the value of these products and continue to differentiate the company from its market competitors.

Solution

To align the company’s marketing initiatives with the impressive functionality of its life-saving products, Sagefrog developed a comprehensive Brand Strategy that spanned product trade dress, marketing materials, datasheets, and website development support. This platform was activated with an integrated marketing program designed to grow the company and accelerate product awareness and adoption.

Results

Through its work with Sagefrog, Defibtech became the fastest growing medical device company in North America and the only company in the AED segment to grow market share. A Deloitte Technology Fast 500 and IDSA Design of the Decade Award winner, Defibtech successfully penetrated markets including transportation, hospitality, education, and fitness. The company eventually sold to Nihon Kohden, one of the world’s largest medical device companies.
