6 Tips for November Email Promotions

By: Andrea Panno

The fourth quarter poses many sales opportunities for B2B and B2C companies with the culmination of Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday. Set yourself up for a successful years-end by getting a jump start on your marketing and email promotions for November sales opportunities.

Prepare your holiday marketing calendar in advance to craft effective promotional emails. Use the checklist below to ensure your company is hitting the email marketing mark this month.

Choose the best promo opportunity for your company.

With so many holiday promos to choose from, it is important to determine which opportunity best suits your company. For example, Black Friday is a classic choice for retailers, while Cyber Monday is a better fit for e-commerce and online companies. Of course, if several opportunities resonate with your company, don’t be hesitant to repurpose your promotions for even greater results.

Consider the impacts of increased email frequency.

With heightened promotions and communications targeting your subscribers in November, you may run the risk of increased opt-outs. Ensure your communications are providing ample value to your subscribers and make it known that these additional emails are separate from your normal communication schedule.

Segment email communications for better results.

As a result of increased email frequencies, consider segmenting your email list to deliver highly targeted messages to your subscribers. During a season where emails are a flurry, your company will have a higher probability of reaching its target audiences if the emails are segmented and sent based on demographics, location and past purchases.

Say “thank you” to your clients.

It is important to acknowledge your clients during this time of year, and a sincere email that thanks them for their business is a good place to start. Based on the nature of your product or service, you may even want to include an exclusive discount, giveaway or promo.

Remind your clients of your special offers and holiday hours.

Send an informative email to your subscriber list a week before the major November shopping events – Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday – reminding them of your special promotions and offers. If your company is taking a particular stance on being closed or open on major holidays, determine if there is a valuable marketing advantage to your strategy that you should promote.

Entice subscribers with last-minute deals.

During the final weeks of November, encourage action by using phrases like “ending soon, or “today only.” This will resonate with last-minute buyers and help to close outstanding deals. For email marketing and all other full-service integrated marketing, please contact Sagefrog Marketing Group.
