Facebook is Finding More Ways for Users to Express Themselves

By: Andrea Panno

Facebook is constantly coming out with new updates to make the site better for its users.  The newest addition, profile video, is no different. The new feature allows users to create and upload a 7 second gif-like video in place of a static picture.

Unfortunately, for everyone living outside of the UK and California, this new release is not available quite yet – but soon, says Facebook!

If you are excited about profile videos, prepare to take your excitement to the next level! Profile videos are not the only thing Facebook is rolling out. Temporary Facebook profile pictures are another new feature. This will allow users to set a certain profile picture for a specified period of time. After that time is up, the site will change the user’s profile picture back to the default image. This will come in handy if you want to use certain filters or want to show your friends that you’re enjoying a vacation.

The design of your timeline will also be changing on your mobile app in hopes of making it more visually engaging. Users profile pictures/videos will be in the center of the page and there will be a space to type a personalized bio.

Facebook understands that more people are looking at videos now than ever before. The new profile video feature will create a new engaging experience that users will enjoy. We can’t wait to try it out!
