Press Releases: Five Words to Avoid

According to this article, there are five words that are all too commonly used in press releases:

  1. “Best”
  2. “Revolutionary”
  3. “Dearth”
  4. “Amazing”
  5. “Great”

The overuse of these terms causes them to lose their impact and results in the reader not gaining any additional insight into the topic. You want your press release to be deemed newsworthy and “live up to the hype” it was created around. Therefore, don’t let it contain unnecessary words – it is the content of the press release that is important.
